There are two kinds of African coffee in most people's cafe world: Ethiopian and Kenyan. And while these countries produce some of the world's best known and loved coffees, venturing to other borders can produce wonderful results. This Uganda is just such a find. Its aroma is darker than an Ethiopian with a touch of Brazil nut that you can taste in the cup, but sweet and mild, and boasting a deep, earthy, woody mouth feel. The body of the cup is fairly light, like most African coffees, but the flavor is surprisingly rich, with dark chocolate and delicious Brazil nut flavor dominating. Additional Notes: Fresh coffee is very sensitive and can change dramatically if it is not stored properly, brewed properly, or kept fresh it can lose its characteristics or gain other characteristics. Coffee flavors listed above are based on the Cupping of the coffee and will vary with the way it is prepared and brewed. Cupping Notes are gathered by using the cupping method to get a general idea of what natural flavor notes a coffee contains. Flavor profile will vary between different brewing methods, grind and roast profiles. Alfalfa sprouts may be the most popular sprout in America, often found on salad bars, in produce aisles, and atop sandwiches. If you like commercial alfalfa sprouts, you’ll absolutely love the fresh flavor and crunch of home-sprouted alfalfa. INSTRUCTIONS FOR SPROUTING ALFALFA SEEDSRinse 2 tablespoons alfalfa seeds, removing any debris or floating matter.Place alfalfa seeds in a quart jar or other sprouting container. Add ¼-½ cup cool water, cover with a sprouting screen or mesh sprouting lid and soak 8 hours or overnight.Drain all water off the alfalfa seeds.Invert the jar over a bowl at an angle so that the seeds will drain and air will be able to circulate.After about 8 hours of draining, rinse and drain again.Repeat rinsing and draining 2-3 times daily. Tiny sprouts should begin to form in about 3 days. Once sprout tails appear, move sprout container to indirect light for growing green leaves. Avoid direct sunlight.Continue rinsing and draining 2-3 times daily for another 2-3 days, or until sprouts have grown to around 3 inches.Once sprouts have reached the desired length, drain well, remove any remaining hulls, and enjoy immediately or transfer to a covered container. Sprouts will keep in the refrigerator for several days.
