Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Pennywort Seeds, Gotu Kola , Centella asiatica, Rau Ma seeds, Asian VegiesPennywort is the name given to several different plants, but the most common one is also called gotu kola, or Centella asiatica and Hydrocotyl asiatica. It’s a small, creeping perennial plant with light green, scalloped leaves that spread vine-like over the ground in moist areas. Pennywort is considered a weed in many places, but it has the reputation of being able to help your memory if you take it on a regular basis in tea or as tincture. Seeds can be difficult to start, but you can do it with a little determination and patience. Mix a good potting soil with about 25 percent Perlite or vermiculite and then fill a nursery flat with your mixture. Sprinkle with water. Fall is the best time to start pennywort seeds. Scatter seeds on top of the soil mixture and then gently press them into the soil with your palm. Keep your seeded flat in an unheated greenhouse or other location that stays cool throughout the winter. Keep the soil surface moist and expect your seeds to germinate in 30 to 90 days, but they could wait six months before you see any green sprouts above the soil surface. Transplant your young pennywort plants to a shady, moist area of your garden when they have fully formed leaves, about 1-inch across. Fertilize your newly transplanted pennywort with a high nitrogen plant food within one month of transplanting to the garden. Keep your plants damp by giving them supplemental water if rains are not sufficient, especially during summer.CHECK ON OUR WEBSITE FOR MORE => maisfamily.us

They do well in many climates and sun conditions, but they will bloom best in full sun to light shade. Plus, columbines are deer resistant, and birds and butterflies love the nectar found in tip of the petal’s thin spur!HOW TO PLANT COLUMBINE SEEDS: For best results, put columbine seeds in the refrigerator for 24 hours prior to planting. Another, slightly more intensive way to stratify (a process of breaking seeds’ dormancy by subjecting them to moist/cold treatments) your seeds is to first, sow them into a container filled with moist soil. Next, place the container in a plastic bag and refrigerate or freeze it for 3 weeks. Finally, remove the seeds, and place them outdoors in a sunny location or under grow lights and allow them to germinate (21 to 28 days). If sowing outdoors: In the early spring (3 to 4 weeks before the last frost), sow your columbine seeds on top of lightly raked soil. They do not need to be covered. Your columbine seeds will germinate in around 21 days.If starting indoors, plant columbine seeds 6 weeks before the average last spring frost.Columbines are perennials that are hardy to zones 3 to 8 or 9, depending on variety.HOW TO CARE FOR COLUMBINE: When flowers begin to fade, dead head to allow for fresh blooms. When the season is over, cut down to the ground.HOW TO COLD STRATIFY SEEDSEveryone wants plants. Now. But there are a small group of seeds that require a special treatment before they will even germinate in a climate that has temperatures below freezing. This process is called “Cold Stratification.” There are two ways to accomplish this.Fall PlantingIf time is not a problem, you can put them in the ground in fall and let them go through a winter. They will sprout next year, but not flower. The following year, having gone through two winters, they will return and bloom as expected. If you are planting poppies direct sowing is recommended in late fall or early spring for zones 2-8Create a “False Winter”The second way to do this, if you want to save time, is to create a “false winter.” What this does is trick the seeds into thinking they have been in the ground for an entire year. All they need is to be in your refrigerator for at least 2 ½ months.About 3 months before spring, place seeds in a plastic bag with a handful of slightly dampened, clean peat, paper towel, or a mix of clean peat and sand.Seal and label the bag with seed name and date, then store in the refrigerator (not freezer) for at least 2½ mos. before planting in spring. (The cold period mimics a full winter’s cold.) Once your seed has been treated, it’s ready to plant when spring arrives.WE SHIP FAST & FREE!Your orders ship the next business date after payment via US mail. NO TRACKING. 25 Vinca Minor Periwinkle Creeping Myrtle Perennial Evergreen Ground Cover

Vinca Minor Periwinkle Hardy Evergreen Ground Cover Plant Shrub 25+ Bare Root Plants Drought Resistant and a Fast and Easy Growing Spreading Plant. The Periwinkle flower (vinca minor) is most commonly grown as a form of ground cover; it is exceptional for preventing erosion. It grows best in growing zones 4 to 8. It is also referred to as creeping Vinca. It blossoms from April to May, and its blooms are a beautiful color. Their flowers are about one to two inches in diameter and funnel-shaped. Each flower has five flattened petals. The leaves range in size from 1 & 1/2 inches to 3 inches in length and are a shade of dark green. The leaves are oblong in shape and have a glossy appearance. They also can be propagated from stem cuttings that are collected anytime during the summer months. When planting new plants, space them six to twelve inches apart to prevent garden choking. There are over thirty types of vinca minor. It is known for spreading; once it is established in the desired location in your landscape, it requires minimal care. Periwinkle (Creeping Vinca) Is Drought Resistant and Grows Easily This herb has its ideal growing conditions in USDA Growing Zones 4 – 8 and reaches maximal heights of 6 inches tall. The plant grows horizontally more than vertically, however, with a maximum spread width of 18 inches at full maturity. In keeping with its perennial nature, the leaves of the Vinca minor are evergreen and grow throughout the year. The plant begins blooming in early May and reaches peak bloom by the end of June. Blooms of the Periwinkle are a light pastel lavender color and maintain a tube-like structure throughout the blooming season. Optimum growing conditions for the Vinca minor are composed of medium-moisture to dry soil beds, and the plant grows best underneath ample amounts of direct sunlight. However, even if direct sunlight is not present, the Periwinkle plant will grow efficiently in partly shaded environments, and it is versatile enough to grow in heavily shaded areas as well. Frequent uses of the Vinca minor include erosion control in heavily watered areas and normalizing the soil quality near the banks of rivers and streams. Please Read Note that most plants and trees are shipped DORMANT. They may or may not have foliage when received. Plant the tree soon after receipt, water well, and it will come to life in a few weeks or less. Many plants will be shipped in a small container with potting soil or peat moss and may be cut back (pruned) hard for shipping purposes. They too will spring to life in a short time. I have had many issues with buyers not reading the full description, then leaving negative feedback or threatening to leave negative feedback after receipt. Please refer to the photographs. The 4th photo is what your bundle might look like upon receipt. The plants may or may not have a visible root system. If the root end has pink and white coloring, it WILL root. The 5th photo is what 1 bundle will look like in 3-4 weeks when planted in potting soil in a trade gallon bucket. The 6th photo is a comparison of the difference a few weeks makes. Some buyers have put their Periwinkle in water to root and have had only limited success.I recommend to place the bundles in a pot with potting soil, water WELL and OFTEN, and place the pot(s) in a shady area. The plants will begin to thrive in a few weeks. You can then dump the pots and plant each vine where you desire. FREE shipping – Lower 48 U.S.A. only Please check out my other ebay auctions. Thanks for looking!!!
