24” x 28” with 2” tabs "If there is none so noble under the heavens: I could not carry anything better." Vintage French-style wall hanging tapestry featuring a medieval ship scene with a central coat of arms and figures on either side. The tapestry displays the French phrase: "Si nobles n'a dessoubz les cieulx : Je ne pourroye porter mieulx". It is often referred to as a "Barques of Love" or medieval scene tapestry, sometimes produced as a quilted wall hanging. The back has wear and spots which are not on the front. It is missing the original tag.
